Arky Calendar is a personal assistant application, operated privately by its own user on hardware they control. It is not a commercial product and it is not offered as a public service. These pages exist to describe what the application does with Google Calendar data, and how that data is handled.
Connecting to Google Calendar
Arky Calendar can connect to a Google Calendar account, but only after the account holder has explicitly authorized it through Google’s own sign-in and consent screen. Nothing is read or written before that authorization is granted, and the connection can be ended at any time.
What it does
- Shows calendars and availability. It lists the calendars the account can already see, displays events across a chosen date range, and answers whether a particular time is free or already committed.
- Creates, updates and deletes events on calendars the user is able to edit, as instructed by the user.
- Adds invited guests to an event when asked, and can add Google Meet conferencing to an event when requested.
- Links events to the user’s own private records. An event can be associated with people and tasks that the user keeps in their own Arky installation. Those records are stored privately by the user and are never written into the calendar event or shared with guests.
Before anything reaches another person
Actions that other people can see — inviting guests, notifying guests of a change, adding a Meet conference, and cancelling or deleting an event — are shown to the user for review first, including exactly who would be emailed. The action is only carried out after the user confirms it.
